Love is a Choice
We're in Missouri for the ACE International Student Convention. It's a memory-making week for our daughter, Emily. RB and I enjoy it, too, although I seriously question the intelligence of the person who decided to give 2400 kids hand clappers!
Today Bobby Finch sang Ray Boltz's song, "When others see a shepherd boy, God may see a king."
Look around and find a shepherd boy and let him know you are cheering for him. Here are 5 quick and inexpensive ways:
1. Tie a note around a Snickers bar for a young friend who loves to tell jokes. "Your jokes make me snicker."
2. Fold a dollar bill in an airplane. Paper clip a note: "Flying in to let you know I think you're special."
3. Make a new label for a soda bottle. "I'm so-da-lighted you're living for Jesus."
4. Pirate's Patch: Draw a large eyeball and around the iris write, "I've had my eye on you and saw you being kind."
5. Last but not least, the gift to make mothers cringe and little boys smile: A toy snake with a note, "You're not s-s-s-stupid--you're s-s-s-smart!
So there you are--5 small ways to bless a boy's heart. Little lads may look like shepherd boys to us, but to God, they could be kings. I don't know about you, but I'd love God to use me to encourage those boys to become their best.
